Avast anti-virus

I just installed Avast anti-virus and when i tried to run it a small window appeared informing me that registration was required so i clicked on OK and then i was informed that i needed a licence key. So i followed the link provided and came to an Avast page which informed me that: 404 Page not found. So could anyone tell me how i can obtain the license key please. Thanks
