The following video tutorial shows you a typical Ubuntu desktop as it comes 'out of the box' or just after installation. So in essence, this tutorial (albeit somewhat delayed) directly follows on from our earlier tutorial covering how to install Ubuntu Linux
The main points covered in this ~30 minute tutorial consist of familiarising ones self with the differences of the Ubuntu (Gnome) desktop versus a typical Windows desktop - for example, "Where is my Start menu?". A run down most of the typical applications that come with Ubuntu is covered, as well as some more in-depth views into the Office suite, OpenOffice.org, Graphics software F-Spot and GIMP as well as how to install more software on your Ubuntu system for free.
As always, your feedback is very much welcomed. If you have any questions or need further assistance, don't forget to post your queries onto the Forum for a speedy answer. Please don't post your questions to the YouTube channel as I am not in the habit of answering queries there!
Enjoy!
