Using sed to find and replace text files in Linux

nixCraft have a good tutorial for the new Linux user/admin. In this example, the tutorial is to answer the question “how do I find the text called ‘foo’ and replaced to ‘bar’ in the file named hosts.txt. How do I use the sed command to find and replace on Linux or UNIX-like system?”
